VAL-YOU at the Best of Erasmus 2025 event

We are honoured to have been invited by the German National Agency for School Education to present our project VAL-YOU at the Best of Erasmus 2025 event in Potsdam on 2 October 2025.

During the event, we had the pleasure of offering a practical workshop for teachers on European values in school education and the role of Erasmus+ in fostering these values across Europe.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated, shared ideas, and helped make the exchange so inspiring!

๐ŸŒ World Refugee Day ๐ŸคToday is World Refugee Day! ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ A day to honor the courage, resilience, and dignity of millions of people who have been forced to flee their homes due to war, persecution, or natural disasters. ๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ It is also an opportunity to stand in solidarity with them and support their rights. ๐ŸŽ’โค๏ธBut what does it mean to stand in solidarity with others? And why is it important? ๐Ÿค”Solidarity is the willingness to help others without expecting anything in return. ๐Ÿคฒ It is how we strengthen our communities through empathy and social responsibility. ๐Ÿซ‚โœจVal-YOU believes in promoting European values among young people and equipping students with the tools to become active, informed citizens in a democratic society. ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿซ They provide teachers and educators with resources to help guide their students through important concepts such as solidarity, justice, equality, and human rights. ๐Ÿ“šโš–๏ธ๐Ÿง  Is solidarity something we are born with?Research suggests that humans have an innate capacity for empathy and cooperation from a very young age. ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐ŸŒฑ However, while the potential for solidarity is born within us, it must be actively nurtured, practiced, and expanded beyond our immediate circle to become a core value. ๐Ÿ“ˆโค๏ธ๐Ÿซ How can solidarity be taught and practiced in class?Teachers can bring solidarity to life through practical, everyday classroom activities:Role-Playing & Storytelling: ๐Ÿ“– Reading stories of refugees or marginalized groups to help students walk in someone else's shoes.Peer-to-Peer Support: ๐Ÿค Implementing "buddy systems" where students help classmates who are struggling with lessons or adjusting to a new school environment.Community Projects: ๐ŸŽจ Organizing local food drives, charity fundraisers, or awareness campaigns for global causes.Open Debates: ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Creating a safe space to discuss global issues, human rights, and social justice, encouraging critical thinking and empathy.#WorldRefidugeeDay #Solidarity #ValYOU #HumanRights #EmpathyInAction #GlobalCitizens #EducationMatters #StandWithRefugees #EuropeanValues See MoreSee Less

๐ŸŽฎ The VAL-YOU project has entered the testing phase of Future Europe, our educational game designed to bring European democratic values closer to young people through an engaging and interactive experience.Students, teachers and educators are already exploring the game, facing challenges and making decisions that encourage reflection on democracy, participation, human rights and active citizenship. Their feedback will help us further improve the game and ensure it becomes an effective tool for schools and youth organisations across Europe.By learning through experience, Future Europe aims to make democratic values more accessible, meaningful and relevant for the citizens of tomorrow.๐ŸŒ Learning democracy by experiencing it.#Valyou #FutureEurope #democracyeducation #EuropeanValues #ErasmusPlus #activecitizenship #gamebasedlearning #youthparticipation See MoreSee Less

๐ŸŸก Democracy is more than voting. When we think about democracy, we often think about elections. But democracy is something we experience every day โ€” especially in schools. ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿซ For teachers, it means creating a space where students feel heard, respected, and involved. ๐ŸŽ“ For students, it means expressing ideas, listening to others, and taking part in shared decisions. It is democracy when we: โœ”๏ธ listen to different perspectives โœ”๏ธ respect others, even when we disagree โœ”๏ธ participate actively in discussions โœ”๏ธ take responsibility within a group Democracy is not just a political system. It is a way of learning, teaching, and living together๐Ÿ’ฌ Education plays a key role: we donโ€™t just learn about democracy โ€” we practice it every day. #ValYou #EuropeanValues #CitizenshipEducation See MoreSee Less
