VAL-YOU at the Best of Erasmus 2025 event

We are honoured to have been invited by the German National Agency for School Education to present our project VAL-YOU at the Best of Erasmus 2025 event in Potsdam on 2 October 2025.

During the event, we had the pleasure of offering a practical workshop for teachers on European values in school education and the role of Erasmus+ in fostering these values across Europe.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated, shared ideas, and helped make the exchange so inspiring!

🕯️ International Holocaust Remembrance Day | 20 January 2026We remember the millions of people who were murdered during the Holocaust. We remember lives stolen, voices silenced, and the devastating consequences of hatred, exclusion, and dehumanisation.Remembering is not only about the past. It is a responsibility for the present. At the heart of VAL-YOU is the belief that democratic values such as democracy, pluralism, solidarity and freedom must be learned, discussed and lived—especially by young people. Holocaust remembrance reminds us why these values matter, and what is at stake when they are ignored.Education plays a crucial role in helping students recognise injustice, stand up against discrimination, and protect democracy in their everyday lives.🕯️ We remember.📚 We learn.🤝 We take responsibility—together.#InternationalHolocaustRemembranceDay #neveragain #DemocraticValues #HumanDignity #educationfordemocracy #ValYou See MoreSee Less

On this International Day of Education, we celebrate the power of learning to build fairer, more inclusive, and more democratic societies. Education is not only about acquiring knowledge and skills — it is also about shaping values, encouraging participation, and strengthening critical thinking. In this perspective, VAL-YOU promotes democracy education in schools across Europe through innovative tools, practical methodologies, and an engaging serious game. The project supports students in exploring key democratic values such as freedom, equality, justice, human rights, and solidarity in meaningful and interactive ways.Through VAL-YOU, learners do not simply study democracy — they experience it. They reflect on their choices, understand their impact, and develop the skills needed to become active and responsible citizens. At the same time, the project supports teachers and school leaders in fostering school environments where democratic values are practiced every day, both inside and outside the classroom. On this special day, it is important to reaffirm that quality education empowers young people to participate responsibly in society and to contribute to a shared European future. 🌟Education today means democracy tomorrow. 💙🔗 Learn more: democracy-education.eu/#InternationalDayofEducation #ValYou #educationfordemocracy #EuropeanValues #activecitizenship #learningforlife See MoreSee Less

⚖️ What does justice really mean?In the EU, justice is about fairness, the rule of law, and trust in institutions. It protects freedom, prevents abuse of power, and gives us a way to resolve conflicts peacefully. But justice isn’t just a principle, it’s a value, shaped by experience.People who feel protected and respected by institutions are more likely to believe in justice.📍 This map shows how much citizens in different European countries trust their justice system: a key indicator of whether justice is seen, not just said (source: www.atlasofeuropeanvalues.eu/).💬 In schools, this becomes a chance to discuss real issues:🔹 What is fairness?🔹 Who do you trust?🔹 How do institutions earn (or lose) public confidence?...#DemocracyEducation #EuropeanValues #ActiveCitizenship #EducationForDemocracy #CivicEngagement #YouthParticipation #DemocraticValues #FutureOfEurope #VALYOU #EducationMatters See MoreSee Less
