VAL-YOU at the Best of Erasmus 2025 event

We are honoured to have been invited by the German National Agency for School Education to present our project VAL-YOU at the Best of Erasmus 2025 event in Potsdam on 2 October 2025.

During the event, we had the pleasure of offering a practical workshop for teachers on European values in school education and the role of Erasmus+ in fostering these values across Europe.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated, shared ideas, and helped make the exchange so inspiring!

๐ŸŒ Today is not just about learning more about autism โ€” itโ€™s about changing the way we see the world.Autism is not something to fix. It is a different way of perceiving, communicating, and experiencing reality. And for this reason, it concerns all of us.As educators, trainers, and citizens, we share a responsibility: to create environments where everyone can express themselves, take part, and feel truly recognized.๐Ÿ’ก Inclusion means adapting environments, not people. It means valuing differences, creating accessible tools โ€” such as Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) โ€” and building relationships based on respect.๐Ÿค Through the Val-You project, we are reminded of how essential European values are in this journey: equality, dignity, participation, and rights.Inclusion is not an extraordinary act. It is a choice we make every day.โœจ Today, we choose to be a community โ€” one that truly leaves no one behind.#ValYou #EuropeanValues #CitizenshipEducation See MoreSee Less

๐Ÿš€ VAL-YOU Toolkit Progress Update! Our project meeting in Reus was an important milestone: we agreed on the overall structure of the VAL-YOU Toolkit and clarified how its different components will work together in classroom practice. ๐ŸคAlongside lesson plans on core European Values from our values report, we are developing dedicated supporting materials for our serious game โ€“ designed to make game-based learning feasible, efficient, and genuinely โ€œready to useโ€ for teachers. ๐Ÿ“‹โœจ๐ŸŽฎ What will the game material include?Quickstart Guide: a clear entry point for teachers who want to begin without technical uncertainty. โšกChecklist of prerequisites: what needs to be in place (devices, group settings, time frame, basic preparation) before playing. โœ…Game overview: the narrative, learning goals, key mechanics, and the kinds of decisions learners will face. ๐Ÿ“–Ready-to-use lesson plans: structured classroom activities before, during, and after gameplay, with reflection tasks and discussion prompts. ๐Ÿซ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Turning insights into actionWhat made this especially productive was testing the new game prototype together. ๐Ÿ•น๏ธ Playing it allowed us to identify what teachers and learners will actually need in real classrooms โ€“ and to translate those insights directly into the toolkit design. ๐Ÿ’กDigital game-based learning works best when play is paired with structure: preparation, guided observation, and reflection. With VAL-YOU, we are building exactly that bridgeโ€”between an engaging prototype and high-quality classroom practice. ๐ŸŒ‰๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡บ#ValYou #EuropeanValues #CitizenshipEducation See MoreSee Less

๐ŸŽฎ We are currently developing a serious game within the Val-You project, designed for secondary schools.Yes, itโ€™s a game โ€” but with a very concrete purpose: to experience democracy, not just study it. Through choices, simulations, and moments of discussion, students will have the opportunity to take responsibility, make decisions, and truly understand what participation means. We believe that democratic values are learned through experience. And when thoughtfully designed, a game can become a powerful educational tool.#ValYou #SeriousGame #Education #Democracy #ErasmusPlus See MoreSee Less
